William Tolman Leveridge son of Keziah
Leveridge a single women of Carbrooke
William is given the middle
name Tolman, after his father, Samuel Tolman,
Keziah's sweetheart.
Records show that William acquired
the trade of a blacksmith probably at Carbrooke
as he joins the Kings 1st Dragoon Gaurd Regiment
as a farrier. At the age of 27 in the October
of 1856 he was at Topsham Barracks in Exeter in
Devon. In the June quarter of 1857 he married
Ellen Phillips Dolling at Exeter (5b 159).
About June 1857 William and the 1st Dragoon Guards
are sent first to the barracks at Aldershot, then
to India, and finally to China. In the same year.
William and Ellen had a daughter:

Loveridge at Exeter - Sep quarter (5b 1).
As William was now overseas Ellen
must have traveled to Norfolk as Jane was baptised
at Carbrooke on September 27 1857, Entry 340.
She was baptised Jane Keziak Tolman Leveridge
daughter of William Tolman and Ellen
Harrietta Leveridge a Ferrier in the 1st Dragoon
Gaurds.
William is discharged from the
army in 1860 as he had been wounded and he returned
to Carbrooke as a blacksmith. William and Ellen
had another son also named William and in 1862
they moved to Dewsbury Yorkshire taking their
new son. Jane stays with her grandparents, Samuel
and Keziah Tolman. William and Ellen have more
children born in Leeds where William is a Farrier
and Ellen is a midwife.
William Leveridge
died on Oct 26 1896 age 64 at Wortley Yorkshire

Charles Barham was born about 1849 at
Scoulton, Norfolk the son of Charles Barham
born about 1821 a Carpenter of his birth place
Scoulton and his wife Sarah Pease born

Charles Barham recorded
as a Blacksmith in 1871 died in the Sep quarter
of 1878 age 29 at St Faiths so Jane moves back
to live with Samuel and Keziah as seen in the
1881 census. William goes to live with his Barham
grandparents.
