1911: Census, taken on Sunday April 2nd - In this census return Robert was recorded as being in an Institution instead of the Household occupied by Sarah (his wife) - So it seems that his health had deteriorated so much that he was now in an infirmary, possibly Reading Workhouse Infirmary where he died a year later. - I could only do an initial search of this record as I am not a member of any subscription based family website - so needs checking sometime.

Sarah had a artificial leg and we are unsure when she lost it, or how. - was this why she was in hospital?
It has been mentioned that Sarah was kicked on the leg in the school playground and her injury developed gangrene.

Meanwhile Sarah's parents came up on the census as below - Again they have also spelt their surname 'Coulton' but by the 1891 census they have dropped the 'u' maybe to blend in with the other Colton families in the area

There are 2 recorded possibilities of the death of Richard Blake but at this time I think the first would be correct - it is said that Richard was working on the roof of woolworth when he fell to his death.

1919: March - There is a record of a death of Marjorie E.K. Blake age 3 of Reading Mar quarter 2c / 688
If these entries for Marjorie are correct then Sarah lost not only her husband but the child by him as well

1921: June - Sarah Ann marries Joseph Richardson (Reading 2c 874)

Joseph committed suicide by hanging himself in the back bedroom. He thought he had terminal cancer but he was wrong!!

1932: March - A record has been found of a death of Elizabeth Colton - age 77 of Reading (2c 549) - was this Sarah's mother?

1954: Sarah died at her home in Reading aged 79 as 'Sarah Ann Richardson'
